George joined the team in August 2015 - just in time to watch England raise the urn during the final Ashes test at The Kia Oval. George brings with him a wealth of experience from a variety of roles within the sports industry. A fan of all things sport, and an aspiring Masterchef contestant, one of his stand out career moments was taking Chris Kamara to the 2006 World Cup in Germany whilst working for Coca-Cola.
Claire works with our commercial partners, sponsors and box holders, ensuring the delivery of sponsorship rights and day to day account management. Claire has many years of experience at the Kia Oval, starting at the Club as Corporate Events Executive and subsequently moving into a more commercially focused management role. Claire enjoys an active lifestyle including circuit training and yoga. She is a qualified Reiki Master practitioner and hopes to further develop her knowledge and skills in holistic therapies.
Emily is a local girl whose family has been frequenting the Kia Oval for over 20 years as ardent cricket fans. She has worked at the Kia Oval since the completion of her degree in 2011. During that time she has undertaken many different roles in the Operational Team and has now found a home in the Corporate Sales Team. Her operational experience has given her an insight into how the events team deliver seamless events day in day out while her passion for the ground and knowledge area means she knows some secret local haunts. When she is not delving into work she enjoys reading a good book (or a bad one if the mood takes her), being a tourist in London, and learning something new.
Anna is involved in taking all manner of enquiries from small meetings, to weddings, to themed dinners and turning them into amazing events! She loves developing positive relationships with clients and ensuring they keep coming back and has worked at The Kia Oval for 8 years. Anna has two children and now works part time - “I love juggling my work and home balance!” Anna loves holidays and cooking and is passionate about great food!
Sim has over 8 years experience in the Events and sales industry. Working with a range of event agencies and travelling abroad to deliver events she has managed to gain a vast amount of experience, she has also worked for many blue chip companies around the world holding events up to 250/1000 people. With her bubbly and enthusiastic personality she is never shy to get involved and be the first to help out. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, spending time with friends and family, working out and just having a good time. Originally being from Bradford she has now settled into London Life and is excited to make new memories.
Lucy has recently graduated from Plymouth University, having studied Event Management. She loves travelling to different countries and cities, and is excited to settle into London. She has always been involved in events through part time work, volunteering and internships, seeing their planning and execution from every angle. Lucy worked at The ExCeL Centre during her placement year and loved the thrill and excitement of organising large, dynamic events. She is passionate about continuing to work from a venue perspective to host a vast array of interesting events at The Kia Oval.
Subhan has gained great experience in B2B sales from working in the IT industry. With being a great salesman and having a major love for sports, he has blended the perfect match with joining the corporate sales team – selling at a Sports Venue! ‘Getting the chance to come to such an admirable sports ground every morning, never feels like work!’ Away from the desk; Subhan is a huge fan of keeping fit, working out and playing football (twice a week minimum)!
Lucy moved to The Kia Oval from Allianz Park in 2016 and quickly made a home for herself. She has lots of experience within sporting venues and loves a bit of sport herself! In her spare time you could find her on the netball court or cycling along the Thames! She is a personable, vibrant member of the team and provides fantastic support for all clients from enquiry stage to the event day itself. Her efforts to comprehend the requirements for each and every event ensure all events run smoothly and successfully.
Events Delivery Team
Having studied hospitality and catering management at Brighton College, Elliott embarked on a management training scheme with Thistle Hotels where he was successful in obtaining the position of Head of Conference and Events at the Kensington Palace Hotel in London. After 5 years within the hotel sector, Elliott moved into contract catering working at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Highbury Stadium, The Emirates Stadium, The O2 Arena, The American Express Stadium and The Ageas Bowl in a variety of senior management roles before taking up the post of General Manager at The Kia Oval. During his time with Compass, Elliot has travelled extensively and helped open and mobilise a variety of events and contracts in the UK, Europe and in the USA.
After finishing Masters of Business Administration at Bradford School of Management, Jimmy stepped into the catering industry with Hilton Hotels where he looked after the conference and banqueting business. There after Jimmy joined the Chelsea Football Club, Compass group and worked there as Stand Manager on match days and managing very high profile conferences and events during non match days. Jimmy moved to The Kia Oval as Events Manager looking after catering operations which involves planning and delivery of first class events, functions and match day hospitality.
Having been in the Compass Group for over 7 years Hiral has a vast experience of major sporting venues and events all over the UK. As Head of Hospitality at the Kia Oval, Hiral is responsible for delivery of Match day Hospitality and all Conferences and Events Business. His major achievements include the successful mobilisation of Under the Bridge, Music Venue at Chelsea Football Club which one now one of the top music venues in London.
An award winning Indian origin, creative and passionate chef with a knowledge in various cuisine, Kapil has worked at some iconic venues like Leeds castle, Murray field stadium etc with some of the finest chefs in the industry. Kapil has worked in the hospitality industry for over 18 years, graduating from one of the prestigious institute in India and then beginning his career with Habitat world at India Habitat centre before moving to Edinburgh. Kapil was awarded the 13th International Indian chef of the year 2003-2004, held in Edinburgh. Taking inspiration from his native India and knowledge of varied cuisine, Kapil’s love of the British locally sourced ingredients and a creative nature has utilised to create some finest dishes. Whilst appreciate experimenting with cutting edge techniques and exotic ingredients, he always has supported a taste and respect for simple and/or often understated ingredients. A strong advocate of staff development within the industry and promoting the highest standards of food, cooking and service, Kapil is a strong believer of passing on these skills to the upcoming chefs thus creating strong and confident chefs for future.
