For those avid London commuters August is the wonderful time of the year; a seat on the tube is a dim possibility rather than a ridiculous pipe dream and the roads suddenly run at slightly more than a snail’s pace – thank goodness for the Summer Holidays!
This seasonal break not only has a calming effect on the average commuter’s journey but also gives a small respite to the C&E team at The Kia Oval.
As the large festival type events take over for the summer, The Kia Oval, being mainly conference focused, has historically seen a drop in our events and revenue. This year we have very much bucked our trend!

This month we have seen our event variety increase exponentially giving way to a busier than usual August. These events have spanned conferences, networking events, summer parties, a gin festival, filming location and a wedding reception – to name but a few!
This has not only been an exciting time for our teams both on the floor and behind the scenes but has been balanced alongside a busy T20 season. This illustrates the breadth of skills in the sales and operational arsenal here at The Kia Oval.
This “quiet month” has set the team in good stead for a hectic September with events surrounding what is set to be a great finale to this Ashes tournament.
