It has been a busy couple of weeks here at the Kia Oval and we are over the moon! Not only did we open to be the first sports ground to welcome back fans but, and this is what I am excited about, we held our first external meetings!
Since being able to reopen for small events we are pleased to say that we have had a variety of clients through our doors; stretching from wine tastings, to interviews and even a meeting for the NHS on the day we could have indoor events. These events have put our policies and procedures to the test and we have been so pleased that it has been a triumph.
One of most interesting events was Independent Television News ltd who used our India Room for a strategic away day before heading to our wonderful Corinthian Roof Terrace for post meeting drinks.
These events have been a resounding success and it has been down to the hard work and dedication of every member of the team here, from our Head of Catering Operations, who became a Room Manager when needed, to our Housekeeping Staff who have been tirelessly cleaning and disinfecting.
Don’t just take our word for it, a recent client of ours, an Executive Assistant at Independent Television News Ltd said, “Having booked the venue during Covid-19, the room was laid out to our exact specifications, with 2 meter distancing between tables and everything else was done to ensure that the facilities were 100% COVID secure, without impacting on our requirements.” This meant they “wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this venue or to use it again”.
We have had so much work going on behind the scenes to make this happen so it is with great pleasure and great relief that I can finally say WE ARE BACK!
