We are only 14 days into 2020 and it has already been an eye opening year and maybe (just maybe) one that requires a few better choices. That is why we are proud to help individuals visiting The Kia Oval make more healthy and sustainable choices in food.
Inspired by “Veganuary” and National Obesity Awareness Week, we have chosen this month to launch our brand new bronze menu. Our entry level offering is 50% plant based and will change quarterly to ensure the most seasonal products are in use. Consisting of two robust salads topped with protein and one hot and two cold sides, this menu is a lot healthier than the sandwiches previously offered as well as catering for a wider variety of diets.
Below is the menu we currently offer on a Monday:
Crispy pork belly,
with flash fried greens and sesame dressing NGCI
Spinach and kale falafel,
with braised red cabbage, kale and cannellini bean salad, vegan yoghurt VG, NGCI
dressed with olive oil and chives NGCI, VG
Cumin roasted carrots,
avocado, coriander and maple salad NGCI, VG
Inca tomatoes with wasabi mayonnaise,
topped with toasted pine nuts NGCI, VG
NGCI = Non-Gluten containing Ingredients
VG = Vegan
As well as being healthy these menus have been built with sustainability at their core, using, in the majority, British produce to reduce the menus food miles and ensuring that, where possible, the most environmentally conscious products are used – beef is used few and far between.
Additionally these menus are on rotation to reduce the possibility of food wastage so will change dependent on the day of the week.
So here’s to the rest of 2020 – a year of better choices!
